Description

Midland High School is currently seeking an individual to serve as a one to one paraprofessional for a special education student.  

 

Qualifications

  1. High school diploma with at least 60 college hours OR Associate Degree OR have passed (or willing to take and pass) the ParaPro Praxis Exam. 
  2. Demonstrates competence for assigned responsibilities.
  3. Typing ability preferred.
  4. Possesses positive interpersonal relations skills.
  5. Commitment to the importance of confidentiality of records.

Job Responsibilties Include:

  • Implementing IEP goals under the direction of the special education teacher/related service provider, including implementation of the instructional program as assigned.
  • Assists teacher in routine classroom operations.
  • Implements/follows teacher’s instructions of classroom procedures.
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of special education records.
  • Prepares planned instructional materials, attendance reports, and class reports as assigned.
  • Assists instructional staff in the supervision of students while they are loading and unloading buses, going to special classes, in the cafeteria, on the playground, etc.
  • Assists with sanitation of room and equipment.
  • Works as a team member with other professionals.
  • Attend professional development as assigned.
  • Maintains confidentiality and observes professional ethics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
