Midland High School is currently seeking an individual to serve as a one to one paraprofessional for a special education student.
Qualifications
- High school diploma with at least 60 college hours OR Associate Degree OR have passed (or willing to take and pass) the ParaPro Praxis Exam.
- Demonstrates competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Typing ability preferred.
- Possesses positive interpersonal relations skills.
- Commitment to the importance of confidentiality of records.
Job Responsibilties Include:
- Implementing IEP goals under the direction of the special education teacher/related service provider, including implementation of the instructional program as assigned.
- Assists teacher in routine classroom operations.
- Implements/follows teacher’s instructions of classroom procedures.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of special education records.
- Prepares planned instructional materials, attendance reports, and class reports as assigned.
- Assists instructional staff in the supervision of students while they are loading and unloading buses, going to special classes, in the cafeteria, on the playground, etc.
- Assists with sanitation of room and equipment.
- Works as a team member with other professionals.
- Attend professional development as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality and observes professional ethics.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
